A Perfect Night!

PinkEssence, a transgendered group I founded, had its first official (non-bar) Girls Night Out (GNO) at the Carousel Dinner Theater in Akron Ohio. The show playing was “Sing’in in the Rain”.

Fifteen people made the commitment with only one no show – not bad! The weather started out a little bitter but nothing a black faux fur wrap couldn’t handle!

It was so exciting seeing the plan come together, and everyone looked so nice. The staff treated us like complete ladies and the rest of the patrons never even knew we were there. I looked around about halfway through the show and all I could see was smiling faces – I am so proud of everyone! Image

Ok, you want to know “who’s the guy in the picture”, right? That handsome mans name is none other than a fellow TGirl “Leanna Star”, a close friend of mine. Leanna was unable to do girl mode so she was kind enough to be my escort to the play! Quite the gentleman Image… and if your looking for details on how the night went … I think I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking – check them out in my picture folder called “Carousel Nov 10th 2006” on Flickr.

OMG! He's just my friend!!.. but, you have to admit, the pictures look great don't they? No, we are not dating - nor am I seeing anyone else for that matter. I'm married and dedicated to my wife - whom actually gave me her blessing to go with David (Leanna) to the show. - Thanks babe!

David did give me a kiss good night however, and I have to admit, I didn't hate it...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone"!

Girls Night Out in Toledo (GNOT)

Ok, I know this is a little late; I'm sorry - it took me a week to recover from such a fabulous time out with the "Ohio Pink Ladies" & members of my group "PinkEssence".

Ok, so the day started off a little rough; you know the ones where you wake up and step on a scale to weigh your self and it reads: "To be continued!" Image

Needless to say the day got better. After 5 hours in the bondo room at the salon, I was late in meeting up with Melissa, Jamie, & Glenda. More on that story here.

The Girls Night Out Toledo Parties (GNOT) should be on every girls list of something to do. The hostesses Ranae and Jackie of the group Ohio Pink Ladies who organize the GNOT are gems. The owner of the RHouse Bar “Carol” is a down to earth and very accepting sweet person…. If you go – tell her Chloe sent ya! Image

I have posted some photos from the GNOT in my photo albums (Check it out)!

So, I have gotten a few emails about where I get my clothes, and who does my hair, and how much does it cost – well I will start adding the break downs as best as I can each time I post a new set of photos.

The look:
  • Hair color & Hi-Lites + Tip $200.00
  • Hair Style and Makeup Pedi & Manicure + Tips $175
  • Top from Cache’ $140.00
  • Strapless Bra from Victoria Secret - $50.00
  • Skirt from The Limited $60.00
  • Hose from Victoria Secret - $30.00
  • Shoes from DSW - $100
  • Jewelry (Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet) from Cache’ – $100.00
  • Total for this look: $855.00
  • Room Costs (My Half) $30.00
  • Fuel Costs - $75.00 (Mercedes “Oink” Benz)
  • Food $40.00
  • Total Cost for Trip = $1000.00 Image

Ok, that’s a lot – but I look at it as an investment towards…… oh who am I kidding ….. I probably will only get to wear it one or 2 more times. At least the break down will get cheaper…. This is why I am a fan of skirts and not dresses, because you can recycle the look with just a different top and a change of hair style and makeup – POOF, a whole new look! Image

Well, if you think $1000 is bad, holly crap –wait till you see my look for The Carousel Dinner Theater night out that is…. OMG, TONIGHT!

Ok, Seriously, I highly recommend the GNOT if you are with in a tank full of gas to get there – GO! The Red Roof in town was nice and remodeled… “no smoking please”.

Finally, leave time on your internal clock to go with the gang back to the IHop – I recommend the scrambled eggs with has browns (Hold Image the onions - PLEASE”!

UPDATE: 04-03-2008

Here is another fine example of stupid things I did because I knew no better. OMG, 2 years later and I can safely say, I could pull this look off for under $100 + Plus travel. THEN, I use to shop the high priced stores and go to the salon EVERY time I went ANYWHERE. I don't need to do either of these things now because #1 I know how to bargain shop like a true woman can and #2 I can do my make up and hair myself now (Even up-do's)! Never again will I spend money like this on a Girls Night out. I am glad I Blogged about this 2 years ago, because reflecting back gives me incite on how far I have come from on not only my looks, but changing my habits too.

"You look fabulous...wow I came right thru Toledo on the 4th, too ...on my way to Chicago...I spent about the same on my trip how funny is that! Just wanted to say Hi and tell you how great you looked...HUGZ!"

-Rebekkah Whitmore

"$$1000?? Yikes! Let me break mine down: Wig, $75 but less cost per wearing. Probably worn 5 times by then so depreciates to $15 Make up, since I buy my own stuff and it lasts a while lets say I consume $2.50 MAX per face application for everything, probably less. Top from Dots, $15. Skirt from Kohl's, $20 Stockings from Sears, $2.50 Underthings, bra, garters, gaff, $50 new but worn many times so brings down cost per wear basis. Shoes, PayLess, $20 Gas, tolls , lodging $67 Food and Drinks, $30. This totals $222 but remember I have already bought most everything previously and using more than once brings the cost down. I have under $100 actual out of pocket for the trip... Yes, startup costs can be high but a thrifty girl can bring them down quickly. It pays to be thrifty!!!"

"Barbie Likey!

Holy Crap, Batman. $1000 for a night out!! If 176 is that expensive, I MIGHT go there on my wedding day - might. More likely, Scott Talbot's place. Here would be my breakdown of a night out:

Hair: you've seen it - color every 8 weeks. $50.00
Makeup: you've seen it - $2.00 Outfit: Fashion Bug or Dots - maybe $50.00
Shoes: Wear the wife's - $0
Stockings: WalMart thigh high's - $7.00 Dinner: $20.00
Drinks at the GNO with tips and breakfast - $60.00

I'm a low maintenance, low profile kinda girl.
And That's the way,uh huh, uh huh, I like it."
