This video is a reminder of why I have chosen to go to Washington DC this year for "Lobby Days" with NCTE. There, I hope to have my voice heard with my congress person, because you KNOW the extremists are going to have theirs there too. We need everyone's voice heard. We can't afford not to go. This is our chance with the new government to swing the pendulum in our favor and get and inclusive ENDA passed.
Lobby Days will be held April 26th to April 28th. REGISTER FOR LOBBY DAYS with NCTE in the nations capital and help make a difference for our community. This is YOUR chance to have your voice heard. NCTE will coordinate the efforts for you to be a volunteer or to schedule a meeting with your congress person. All you have to do, is come and be who you are..
What are you thoughts?
I saw the post about the lobby days in the PE discussion group a few days ago and I've checked out the NCTE website. My original thoughts were, "Cool. I can do something at the national level for the good of the TG community in addition to my local grassroots efforts AND have some fun there as well." While attending the cherry blossom festival in DC the past 2 springs I thought about how much fun it would be to enjoy the sights while in Cyndy mode and getting lots of pix with Cyndy in front of the White House, etc. I figured there would be some time for this after meeting with my state reps.
ReplyDeleteAfrer further consideration and what with financial concerns (my employment contract will end in April and I currently have no job prospects) I'm thinking of driving there (DC is less than 200 miles from me) and meeting with my state reps but not staying at a hotel overnight so as to save some funds. I also believe it best if I meet with my reps in my male persona. I believe I represent in my female persona quite well enough to go to social events or shopping at a mall but, since my reps probably have had limited contact with TGs, I tend to believe I'll be more effective and they'll relate to me more easily if I present in male mode. I plan to post some messages at my blog and local discussion groups in the weeks prior to lobby days to see if I can round up a couple local interested TGs to share the costs of gas. Failing that, I may extend my trip from DC on to North Carolina to visit some family. At any rate, it should be an interesting trip. Although I voted in the recent election for the state reps I'll be meeting, I haven't actually met them in person. These are my tentative plans as it stands.

It does not take much watching that video to see the ignorance. I could not watch the whole thing. These are the people that think that Christianity is the national religion. Oh please.

This is typical, two faced, hypocritical, double standard stuff. The gays expect everyone to agree with them and anyone that disagrees, whether Christian or Muslim etc or what, are wrong. The homosexuals want rights that NO ONE else have and they want to remove the rights of others.

This is typical and sadly the people that have a differing opinion, whether they are Christian or or not, will be silenced and made illegal.
The politically correct are running and ruining life.
